Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District will hold the BERT Unit 3: Fire Safety and Utility Controls Class next month to prepare businesses to handle fire emergencies.
The BERT (Business Emergency Resiliency Training) Program is a five-course series that helps prepare businesses and their employees for different emergency situations. Each course can either be taken as a stand-online class or as a cohesive program. The BERT session happening in May will be the third in the series and will focus on what to do if a fire or utility emergency occurs at a place of employment.
The session will go over basic safety precautions and how to properly operate fire protection equipment. Class participants will learn how to safely use a fire extinguisher by way of hands-on practice. Attendees will also review utility controls and how to disengage them in an emergency. Other topics on the class agenda include awareness of hazardous materials and how to create and enact fire safety plans. Lunch will be provided during the class.
Safety workshops often include printed Brochures and manuals, which can be printed using brochure printing and related Print services in the area.
The free fire safety session is scheduled for May 18 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. It will take place at the RCFD Public Safety Facility Station 172 at 8870 San Bernardino Road.
