New eatery serves authentic Jamaican food in Rancho Cucamonga

Jamdung, a restaurant chain, recently opened shop in Rancho Cucamonga, with spicy and flavorsome food on the menu.

The name Jamdung is a word Jamaicans use to fondly refer to their home country. At this new restaurant, a special dish originating from the Caribbean island is being prepared by the chef. It is called the Scotch Bonnet due to the addition of chili pepper similar to the habanero. The food at Jamdung varies in spiciness depending on the condiments patrons put on their plates.

This fine dining establishment is owned by Tracy and Randy Deleon and provides traditional Jamaican dishes to distinguish itself from other fast-food chains that typically serve hamburgers and hotdogs. Patrons will get to enjoy a traditional Jamaican dish containing a sweet and spicy aftertaste. There will be appetizers made from flaky chicken or beef patties.

The entrees will include goat curry, salted fish with fruits, jerk chicken, and a mound of rice with mixed vegetables. At Jamdung, food is usually grilled and topped with a marinade of pimento berries or brown sauce. A side of deep-fried, oblong bread is provided to reduce the spicy flavor. Lastly, patrons can finish off with a bowl of sweet potato pudding for dessert.
