Local animal shelter receives gift of Faith and Hope

The year has barely begun, but Faith and Hope have already arrived at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Twins Faith and Hope Sawyer brought a donation of over $350 worth of supplies to the shelter earlier this month. The 10 year-olds bought bedding, food, and toys for the animals with their own money. The gifts were received by Barbara Hansen, who serves as Rancho Cucamonga’s Animal Care and Services’ community program specialists.

According to their mother, Sindy Sawyer, the twins raised money for the goods they donated by selling homemade items and some of their gently used toys. One of the items they made for sale was horse cookies, which they marketed in decorated jars.

This makes the Sawyer twins’ second go-round of buying items for the shelter. A little over a year ago, right before Thanksgiving 2013, the twins responded to a wish list requesting bedding and toys by donating their chore money.

Animal shelters use printing services to not only inform the public of their needs, but they also need their brochure and poster printing services to advertise their fundraisers.

Last time round, the girls felt bad that not every dog and cat got its own toy. They made up their mind to make a bigger donation the following year and, with a little assistance from the relatives, they were able to achieve this.
