Library to turn Hispanic this month

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, a Hispanic Heritage Cultural Arts Night is to be held at the Paul A. Biane Library later this month.

The public is invited to join in the celebration of Hispanic Cultural Arts, which will include performance an activities geared toward children and teens as well as adults. Storyteller Olga Loya will perform ‘Stories from Latin America’, and Iliana Rose Band will provide live Cuban Jazz music.

A variety of Hispanic themed games and crafts will be featured. Those wishing to go beyond general knowledge about their Hispanic Heritage and trace their specific genealogy can benefit from a tech class on genealogy taking place at the event.

Increasingly libraries have expanded beyond providing educational information in the form of Brochures to include promoting and in some cases sponsoring entertaining events that bring the community together.

The Hispanic Heritage Cultural Arts Night is a joint venture of Rancho Cucamonga Library Services and the Rancho Cucamonga Library Foundation.

Tickets are required to attend the event and can be obtained free of charge at the information desks of the Archibald Library and the event’s venue, the Paul A. Biane Library in Rancho Cucamonga’s Victoria Gardens Cultural Center. Tickets became available on September 12.

The Hispanic Heritage Cultural Arts Night takes place on Friday, September 23, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
