The summer IGNITE program from the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) was recently completed by 29 high-school juniors at its Rancho Cucamonga campus.
Teenagers from across Southern California got an inkling of what it takes in the way of fundamental skills to qualify for in-demand occupations such as automotive and diesel technicians. Lake Elsinore, Grand Terrace, Perris, Riverside, and Rancho Cucamonga students, as well as some others, made up the participants at the Rancho Cucamonga UTI campus.
Students received hands-on experience working as a team to rebuild an engine, and upon graduations received credit that can be used toward UTI coursework in the future. This means after graduation, they can start a career in the transportation sector a little sooner. A formal completion ceremony was held at the program’s conclusion with UTI leadership in attendance.
