City officials have approved funding for several projects in Rancho Cucamonga. The budget of just over $88 million will cover the projects as well as salary and benefits for city employees.
When cities release information on budgets they can use printing services to create correspondence to let residents know what the annual budget is and how the city plans to allocate those funds for improvements that will benefit residents.
Water conservation was on the list of improvements for the year with $400,000 being set aside to replace turf with landscaping that will hold up through periods of drought.
Funds will also be set aside to continue with the second phase of Etiwanda Park which will cost about $450,000 for designs. A budget of $500,000 will be used to add LED lighting to the fields. Lastly approximately $832,000 will be used to upgrade the playground surfaces at a dozen city parks.
The council has allotted $2.8 Million for repaving efforts throughout the city and a portion of those funds will be used for the Etiwanda road widening and grade-separation. Traffic signal improvements will also be funded with plans to add a flashing yellow turn light on Day Creek Boulevard. The amount set aside for these projects is $2.8 million.
The total city budget for 2019-2020 is an increase of $1 million from the prior year. The city did indicate there is a likelihood that the budget for next year will need to be adjusted.
