Charity drive sets record in fundraising

Money raised in 2015 for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals, by the CO-OP Miracle Match program’s 200 participating credit unions, increased by 39% over the previous record-setting year of 2014.

CO-OP Miracle Match’s goal is to encourage sponsorship of local fundraising events by credit unions, as well as chapters and leagues, to support CMN Hospitals in their area. A total of $4.3m was raised last year, which was made up of $3.3m from the 2015 Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers and further funds via CO-OP Miracle Match of $1m. This comfortably surpassed the total of these two sources in 2014, which was $3.1m.

Matches were provided in 227 fundraisers, and this year featured “new event” fundraisers numbering 105. Participation by 200 credit unions supplied benefits to 98 CMN Hospitals across 39 states. A poster printing service can benefit a wide range of fundraising efforts, including the top individual fundraiser for 2015, which was a golf tournament in Mountain View, California held by First Tech FCU, which raised $760,000.

CO-OP Financial Services was founded in 1981 and is based here in Rancho Cucamonga. It is the country’s biggest credit union service organization in terms of credit unions, members, and assets.
