Area woodworking shop to host joinery class

At the beginning of April, Rockler Woodworking and Hardware will offer an introductory joinery workshop in the Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario area for any interested woodworking enthusiasts.

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware is a family-owned chain of hardware stores that also provides various workshops and classes at each of its locations across the country. The Rancho Cucamonga joinery class in April is one such workshop.

The class will focus on the basics of joinery, which is the process of joining together pieces of wood to create more complex Forms. Instructors will go over different joints such as lap joints, miter joints, box joints, and tongue and groove joints. To help with instruction, Print shops specializing in brochure printing may be helpful to organizers wanting to create informational materials. After the class, students will be able to take home a one-of-the-kind finished box. All tools and safety Apparel, such as gloves, will be provided.

The class will follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, so masks and social distancing are required. The classroom areas and tools will also be sanitized after each session, and hand sanitizer will be available for students to use.

The basics of joinery class will be held on Saturday, April 3 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Rockler store on 4320 Mills Circle. Class registration is $75.
