Placerville residents seeking a unique Christmas and holiday celebration are in luck, as a Victorian festive gathering is in the works for the town.
The Victorian Christmas with John and Jane Blair is scheduled to commence next month. It will take interested parties into the past to celebrate Christmas in vintage style. The event aims to bring guests into 19th-century Placerville by portraying descendants of the Blair family. The gathering will be held in one of Placerville’s oldest and most iconic homes.
The gathering will double as a fundraiser, with the proceeds benefiting the El Dorado County Historical Society. The proceeds ensure that cultural and historical events like this can be held for educational purposes in the future. Flyer printing is an effective grassroots method to raise awareness and anticipation of such community events.
Guests will have access to hors d’oeuvres, Christmas punch, rum nog, and traditional Christmas desserts and pastries for a comfortable and memorable experience. Individuals opting to drink are asked to do so responsibly. The event will conclude with guests gathering around the fire to listen to Christmas stories read by John Blair.
The celebration will be held at the historic Blair-Thompson House on Saturday, November 30th, with the doors opening at 5:30 PM. Evening Christmas Party attire is encouraged. Tickets are available online for $172.50 per guest.
