Placerville gears up for fall music festival

Placerville residents can look forward to a three-day autumn concert series.

Carrying on the lineage of the former Hangtown event, this year's event serves as its spiritual successor. The original festival operated just over a decade until its creator transferred ownership to High Sierra Music Festival. It later rebranded itself as Sugar Pine Music Festival prior to its ultimate cancellation. The new edition brings back a Halloween and harvest theme and is family-friendly, centering heavily around live performances.

The lineup includes a schedule of more than 20 distinct acts, with genres spanning from jam, folk, and bluegrass. Leftover Salmon will perform on Friday and Saturday night. Saturday also features The Devil Makes Three, while Elephant Revival wraps up the festival on Sunday. Also featured on the bill are the Sam Grisman Project, Hot Buttered Rum, Dead Winter Carpenters, and the Hattie and Joe Craven Quartet.

Away from the stage, guests can carve pumpkins, browse wellness and art and craft vendors, and visit a kids' zone. Access to the late-night sets is included in every general admission pass. Tickets will include camping access on site, and attendees can choose between a single-day pass or a weekend pass.

Banner printing can be a simple way for vendors at multiday festivals to identify their booths.

The Hangtime Music Festival will run from Friday, October 16, through Sunday, October 18 at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds at 100 Placerville Drive.
