Although Halloween is still just over the horizon, Placerville has found a unique way to usher in this time of the year.
The Handblown GLASS Pumpkin Patch is essentially a collection of over 7,000 handmade pieces that have been created by local glassblowers. No two items are alike, and there are plenty of options to choose from. These include pumpkins, apples, flowers, ghosts, acorns. There will also be a live glass-blowing demonstration that takes place every 30 minutes.
This family-friendly event provides a range of on-site attractions suitable for all ages. Coffee samples, discounted lavender products, complimentary popcorn, and a llama petting zoo are some additional examples. The GLASS Pumpkin Patch has become somewhat of a tradition throughout Placerville, and a large turnout is expected.
Annual events associated with niche themes often rely on equally innovative marketing techniques. Some proven methods include bulk flyer printing, hanging banner advertisements in relevant locations, and placing product samples in areas that can be viewed by the public.
The 2026 Handblown GLASS Pumpkin Patch festival is taking place over six days, beginning on Friday, September 18th, and concluding on Sunday, September 27th. The event will run between 10 AM and 5 PM on each day. The exact schedule can be found on the official Facebook page. It is being hosted by Bluestone Meadow located at 2025 Carson Road. There is no charge to enter, and on-site purchases are welcome.
