Stagecoach rides to be offered in Placerville this summer

Placerville residents and visitors alike can step back in time this summer when they take a ride in an old-fashioned stagecoach.

For more than 20 years, the Overland Stagecoach operated by Davey Wiser and his crew has brought a taste of the state’s early days back to the city. They offer free rides, and the public is welcome to climb aboard and get a feel of what travel was like many years ago.

Along with offering people an opportunity to sit in the horse drawn coach, Wiser can often be seen driving one down Stagecoach Alley. People are welcome to come and watch and enjoy a bit of what it might have been like to see one rolling past in days gone by. This opportunity has been organized by the Placerville Downtown Association, and no preregistration is required to participate in either the ride or viewing.

The stagecoach will depart from the Bell Tower area and will proceed down the city’s Main Street for passenger travel. Promotional Products can be designed by an area printer to help promote this type of attraction to those who are visiting the community.

Both July 15 and August 18 have been scheduled as days when the coach will offer rides to the public. More information, including a chance to see Davey and the crew in action can be found on the Downtown Placerville website.
