The Carson Road Wineries Winter Wine Adventure is returning to Placerville area for another day of tasting at some of the area's best wineries.
Wine enthusiasts are welcome to travel down picturesque Carson Road and enjoy the winter scenery while visiting more than 10 participating wineries, plus the Hwy 50 Brewery.
Each winery will be serving food to go with their samples. Tickets are $30 for what will be the second year for this winter wine showcase.
Carson Road boasts a multitude of family-run, small wineries. Often, you will meet the family-members or the wine masters when you visit, and they all promise casual, comfortable and unpretentious settings in their tasting rooms.
Organizers warn that those participating in the event should bundle up, as it is the middle of winter.
The event features a scavenger hunt, where attendees will be asked to find certain items at each venue location, then post pictures of them to social media to be entered into a grand prize draw.

The Carson Road Wineries Winter Wine Adventure takes place Saturday, February 22 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Carson Road in northwest of Placerville. If bad weather closes the road, the alternate date will be the next Saturday, February 29.
