What's Happening in Placerville, CA…

Main Street Placerville will transform into a Halloween festival for the city's annual Trick or Treat on Main Street event.

Downtown Main Street will be closed to traffic to make way for hundreds of ghouls, ghosts, and goblins. Participating Main Street businesses will open their doors and offer candy and treats to kids of all ages – while supplies last.

There is no admission for this event. At the historic Bell Tower, there will be live music and a costume contest. Over at Town Hall, there will be a carnival for children under 10 years-old put on by the Placerville Lions Clubs.

The local Active 20-30 Club is the main group behind the costume contest. This is an international organization that helps develop leadership skills in young people aged 20-39.

This is just one of many events organized by the Placerville Downtown Association to increase traffic in the area and get more people aware of the array of businesses their downtown community has to offer. Trick or Treat on Main Street is one three main events held at this time of year – just after Placerville Oktoberfest and just before the Festival of Lights and the lighting of the town Christmas tree.
