Placerville event to take aim at poverty

Poverty is an issue faced by many communities, and a Placerville symposium will address the topic from the perspective of law enforcement, educators, and others who work with the public.

The workshop, which has been named ‘Bridges out of Poverty’ will discuss ways that both individuals and the community as a whole can work together to deal with this issue. While specific strategies will be shared, it was noted that the goal of the event is to look at the topic from an assortment of perspectives.

The plans for the occasion include a review of the most up-to-date research into poverty and the factors that influence it. There will also be an examination of a theory that may create a change in this situation, and there will be lots of time for discussion and networking. While the two-day conference is open to all, it is especially geared towards educators, law enforcement, and those who work in civil administration.
