The California Highway Patrol has partnered with Training, Research and Education for Driving Safety (TREDS) to create a class that will focus on the topic of distracted driving, and a sitting of the workshop being offered in Placerville.
This one-hour event will work to increase awareness about the impact distracted driving can have, and the tips shared can be used by both professional drivers and the general public. It will be focused on cellphones, but the organizers noted that the curriculum can be applied to any other distraction that can affect a driver.
The planners of the workshop explained that driving while using a device can greatly increase the number of accidents, and this is what they are hoping to prevent. They went on to say that the strategies taught for road safety will be practical and easy to follow while on the road.
This free class is open to all drivers, and a discussion of the relevant laws in California will be included in the agenda for the occasion. Flyers can be very helpful in promoting an activity like this, and they can be readily sourced from a local flyer printing company.
