Placerville Awards Luncheon recognizes business achievement

The El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce will be recognizing business achievement at its annual awards luncheon in Placerville.

Awards will be handed out in four categories, plus the winner of the annual business mini-grant will be named.

Nominations are now open for the awards by the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 6.

Awards include:

Small Business of the Year, which recognizes a small business demonstrating growth and strong marketing and management.

Start Up Business of the Year, which recognizes businesses less than three years old that have laid a strong foundation for the future.

Home-based Business of the Year, where 80% of the business is conducted from a personal residence.

Distinguished Community Service Organization, which recognizes any business that is contributing and committed to events and causes in the community.

Also at the luncheon, the Chamber will be handing out grants to local businesses. Businesses can use the grants to develop employees, buy equipment or purchase advertising or signage.

Funding for the Business Grant Program comes from past and current sponsors, members, and donations from the community.

Professional printing services can be used at awards luncheons such as these for items like Menus and professional programs containing information about the award and grant winners.

Also the Chamber will give its State of the County address. Reservations are required. Tickets are $30 per person for members of the Chamber of Commerce and $50 for non-members.

The El Dorado County Business Awards Luncheon takes place Friday, March 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cold Springs Country Club, 6500 Clubhouse Drive in Placerville.
