Old-fashioned country fair returns to Placerville

The El Dorado County Fair is being held next month for four days. This year’s theme is “Cowboys and Carousels.”

The fair will feature a midway with rides and games, livestock displays and plenty of live entertainment. Some of the musical fun will be provided by the Country Artists Tribute, the FBI Band, and several other artists.

There are lots of activities planned that should appeal to people of all ages. Those include exotic cats and animals, a quilt showcase, a Home Depot free workshop for kids, and entertainment from Jeremy the Juggler. Several contests are also taking place, including a funnel cake eating competition, wheelbarrow racing, and a kids’ big wheel races. Demonstrations over the four days will include gardening, cooking classes, preserve making, and horsemanship. Local vendors will be also on hand to sell a variety of merchandise.

There are set to be several special days for Father’s Day, teens, seniors and kids which will give certain people reduced admission.

Placerville printing companies will likely be asked to provide marketing materials such as Posters and Flyers to help advertise the fair.

The El Dorado County Fair will be held at the Fairgrounds from June 16 to 19. Admission is $8 in advance or $10 during the fair for adults and $6 or $7 for children between the ages of 7 and 12. Visit the official website for the latest information.
