The Gold Prospecting and Mining Summit is taking place for two days next month in Placerville, presented by the ICMJ Prospecting and Mining Journal.
There are expected to be more than 80 booths that will be showcasing the latest prospecting and mining equipment, as well as information on how to find and recover gold. There will also be prospecting demonstrations, gold specimen displays, and lectures.
Some of the speakers who will be appearing at this year's summit are Chris Ralph, Don Robinson, and Dr. Thom Seal. Topics of discussion will include current prospecting regulations, mineral identification, and the history of local mines. Visitors can also ‘ask the experts’ on almost any related topic.
Other activities will include a free kids’ scavenger hunt for prizes and a daily raffle. Food and drink will be available for purchase. For those coming from out-of-town, RV camping will be possible.
With many people holding romantic view of gold mining and prospecting, this summit will show the hard work and expertise that goes into the industry. Placerville Stationery printers may be asked to provide advertising Brochures to attract interest.
The Gold Prospecting and Mining Summit will be held at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds over the April 16 and 17 weekend. Admission is $5 or free for children aged 12 and under. To learn more about this event, call 831-479-1500.
