Wagon trains were once an essential form of transportation for those seeking a new life in the western USA, and Placerville will be welcoming the 68th anniversary of the Highway 50 Association’s Wagon Train.
The procession will set off from South Lake Tahoe to Placerville, with the wagons being driven by volunteers who put themselves forward to take part in this historic event. They will be dressed in period-style clothing, and the Lead Hitch will host a Pow Wow each evening for the participants. A local provider of printing services will be able to work with the planners of an event such as this to create items that fit in with its overall historical theme.
The wagon train will arrive in Placerville from the east, and according to its organizers, space may be available for anyone who would like to ride along as a passenger. Teamsters will be on hand to provide them with any assistance they may need during the journey itself.
The wagon train will depart from South Lake Tahoe on June 4, and will arrive in Placerville on June 10.
