Gold Rush comes alive for Placerville residents

Residents will be transported back in time at a unique event celebrating California’s Gold Rush history.

Gold Rush Live transforms Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park into a 1850 tent town, when people from all over the world headed for California to seek gold and riches.

The tent town is a recreation of the same kind of community that would have existed here in the heyday of the Gold Rush. It is a functioning town called Coloma, where costumed actors play roles of blacksmiths, justices of the peace, or gamblers who they make the town come alive - just as it did in the mid-1800s.

Miners will perform live music, while other reenactors will tell stories about the old days and how the area was settled. There will be gold panning demonstrations, and residents can also visit a mining camp on the South Fork of the American River.

Admission is $10 per vehicle. There are no pets allowed, and there is food and beverages to be purchased on site. Annual events like these can be promoted with services provided by Print shops - through flyer printing and banner printing.

Gold Rush Live takes place Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, just northwest of Placerville off Highway 49, between Placerville and Auburn.
