Fundraising event helps women and children

The Soroptimist Chocolate Affair is taking place next month, and is a fundraiser for Soroptimist International of Cameron Park/El Dorado Hills and Placerville.

The event is set to feature food and beverage samples from several local wineries, breweries, restaurants and bakeries. There will also be live and silent auctions of items donated by local businesses and individuals and two raffles. One raffle is for 100 bottles of wine and the other is to win a world travel ticket to go anywhere the winner chooses; tickets for both raffles cost $100 each and only 100 tickets will be sold for each.

Soroptimist International is an organization that provides help to woman and children. This includes grants, scholarships, and emergency funds. The group also provides girls’ programs and senior care among other services.

Sponsorships are available for purchase from $100 up to $2,500. Sponsors will be recognized at the event and in the program, no doubt provided by a Placerville brochure printing firm, that everyone will receive. Donations are also still being accepted for the auctions and the raffles.

The Soroptimist Chocolate Affair will be held at the Forni Building at the Placerville Fairgrounds. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door, or 70 couples’ tickets are also available for $70.
