Fundraiser to show off local food providers

The 5th annual 20 Mile Taste is taking place next month in Placerville. The event is a fundraiser for El Dorado County Ag in the Classroom.

Usually a sellout event, this is set to feature entirely local produce prepared by local chefs. In addition, there will be wine, beer, and doughnuts from the area. Among this year’s participants are Smokey Ridge Ranch and Smith Flat House.

Guests will be able to purchase raffle tickets and bid on items in a live auction. Auction items are donated by local business leaders and individuals, and can include anything from hotel packages, to catering, to sporting event tickets. There will also be some adult farm day fun activities taking place during the evening.

Ag in the Classroom is dedicated to promoting an understanding of the importance of agriculture to everyone. The organization offers hands-on experience and provides information about the significance of local food and sustainable production.

This event is an opportunity for local chefs to show off their skills and possibly gain new customers. Placerville printing companies are often asked to provide Flyers or Brochures to advertise events such as this in the community.

The 20 Mile Taste will be held at the Davies Family Inn at Shadowridge Ranch on August 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Tickets are $35 until July 31, $45 after, and $50 at the door. For more information, visit the event Facebook page.
