The Art and Wine Festival is taking place next month, presented by and raising funds for the Placerville Downtown Association.
The festival will take place at several stores and galleries in the downtown area. Over 25 Foothills wineries will be providing tastings of their product. Guests will be able to purchase souvenir wine-tasting glasses. In addition, several of the stores will also be providing hors d’oeuvres.
It also signifies the end of the 10th annual Placerville Art Parade. This features Banners which are hung from light poles on Main Street from June until October of each year. The banners are created by the Banners on Parade community art project, and will be auctioned off during the evening.
Also, visitors can purchase artworks from the Images of Hope Project, which provides art therapy for cancer patients.
In addition, there will be music from the Island of Black and White Band, art demonstrations, and art exhibitions in various galleries. The materials for the banners and the final printing may have been provided by Placerville printing companies.
The Art and Wine Festival will be held on October 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Historic Main Street. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 on the day of the event, while designated drivers are free. Contact Lisa Crummett at 530-672-3436 to learn more.
