Organizers of the El Dorado County Fair are moving “full steam ahead” with plans for this year's event in Placerville, despite the ongoing crisis surrounding the coronavirus global pandemic.
The El Dorado Fairgrounds, where the county fair takes place, is currently closed. The fair is scheduled for mid-June, which gives the organizers hope that the state's “stay at home order” will be lifted. If not, then there is a backup plan - the fair may be delayed until July 9 - 12.
This year's theme for the four-day fair is Stars and Stirrups. The popular annual festival features a midway, contests, live entertainment, food, and fun interactive exhibits for the entire family. There is also a 4-H/FAA daily livestock exhibit with goats, cows, pigs, horses, and rabbits.
The fair is still recruiting live entertainment acts, vendors, and volunteers. Local fairs such as this one can use Print shops for professionally printed Banners, maps, and schedules.
Fairs have been held in El Dorado county ever since 1859 – and have been taking place in Placerville since 1939.
General admission presale is $10, or $7 for kids and seniors. Prices are a couple of bucks more at the door.
The El Dorado Country Fair is scheduled to take place starting Thursday, June 18 and ending on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21st at the El Dorado County Fair and Event Center, 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville.
