Downtown Placerville: home for wine, art, music and food

Downtown Placerville will soon become an artistic world celebrating all things creative and local when WINEderlust opens next month.

WINEderlust promises local wines and beers, food from local food trucks, music from area bands, and works from local artists.

Middle Main Street (old Hangtown) will be transformed into a giant bazaar, with a giant concert stage at Main Street and Cedar Ravine. Local musicians Patrick Walsh, Achilles Wheel, and Island of Black and White will perform.

“It will be the only time you get to sit in the Main Street on your lawn chair with a beer without getting arrested,” proclaims the event’s website.

Tickets are $28. However, a $40 VIP pass offers access to private venues for food and wine pairings, and special discounts at downtown stores. There is a pre-party for VIP pass holders before the actual begins. Children under 12 can attend for free.

Artisan bazaars will be set up in area parking lots, and stores and merchants along Main Street will be having sidewalk sales, too.

There is also a charitable and social aspect to the event. 2019 Banners of Hope will have a silent auction for some of its special banners and Images of Hope will be raising awareness of its work with people in the community affected by cancer.

Community events that bring a wide variety of people together are also a chance for merchants, sponsors and charities to raise awareness of their products and services by visiting Placerville Print shops and investing in banners, Brochures and Posters.

WINDerlust takes place September 7, 2019 in downtown Placerville from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
