Annual Crab and Chowder Fundraiser benefits fairgrounds

The El Dorado Fairgrounds is hosting the annual Crab and Chowder Gala, with proceeds going to help support the aging fairgrounds. The event is one of many throughout the year bringing locals together for a night of fun.

Those attending the gala will be treated to Dungeness Crab and New England Clam Chowder. The menu also includes bread, pasta, and salad. For those of age, there is a bar with various wines and beer available as well. Attendees will also be treated to an evening of live music and dancing.

Local businesses can support the event by providing items for the silent auction and raffle. This is an opportunity for businesses to donate items accompanied with custom Business Cards to advertise their products and services. Raffles are often the source of bringing business to the attention of potential new customers.

The El Dorado Fairgrounds have been in Placerville since the 1939 and are alive with activities throughout the year, including Fourth of July family events, horse shows, and the fair itself, which features exhibits and livestock auctions. They also play host to microbrew and homebrew competitions along, with an open wine completion.

The event will take place on Saturday, November 12 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the El Dorado County Fair and Event Center, 100 Placerville Drive. Tickets are $45 per person and reservations are accepted for tables with eight or more.
