The sunny days of summer can be perfect for an outdoor activity, and the Petaluma area has a special one in the works for this coming July.
The annual Penngrove Parade will be making its return. Now in its 48th year, it is described as being the “biggest little parade” in the region, attracting big crowds but retaining a small-town vibe.
The procession will include a wide variety of marchers, floats, bands, horses, antique military equipment, and bicycle teams. The Grand Marshal for the celebration will be Stan DeGraffenreid. All funds raised will benefit the community, and it is being organized and hosted by Penngrove Social Firemen.
After the procession has passed by, the fun will keep on going with a barbeque lunch, as well as beer and other cold drinks. Kids can play games and participate in other fun. Pet owners should note that dogs are not permitted in Penngrove Park, which will be the venue for the activity
Application Forms to be part of the procession will be accepted until July 5 at 5:00 pm. Many of those participate in a parade or other public event order items from a banner printing company well in advance.
The Penngrove Parade and community gathering will take place on Main Street in Penngrove, and the lunchtime festivities will begin immediately afterwards. It is scheduled for Sunday, July 7.
