Fruit growers use a variety of techniques to achieve success, and an event that will be focused on grafting is on the way to the Petaluma area.
An in-person scion exchange will soon be taking place at the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Building, and it has been organized by the Redwood Empire California Rare Fruit Growers. Entry has been priced at $5, and everyone will need to purchase a ticket unless they are very young babies.
The attendees will have access to an assortment of free cuttings for grafting purposes, and they can be utilized for purposes such as crafting self-pollinating trees and growing less hardy trees on strong rootstock. Grafting and pruning demonstrations are on the agenda so everyone can add to their skillset, and various species and cultivars of rootstock will be sold.
One of the main draws for the day may be an opportunity to have a custom fruit tree crafted by master grafters. Both common and rare varieties will be on offer, and the price for this service is $10.
Many people who attend a horticultural market may appreciate receiving sheets of plant care tips so they can learn how to provide care for their new tree or other plant. These can be prepared by a brochure printing company.
The in-person California Rare Fruit Growers' Fruit Tree Scion Exchange is on the agenda for Saturday, February 25. It will be open to the public from 10:00 until 2:00 pm.
