While Santa often travels by sleigh, he has been known to use many other Forms of transportation. Indeed, he will be arriving by boat for a special Petaluma event next weekend.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Claus are set to preside over this year's Small Business Saturday, and they will arrive in the community on a Lind Marine tugboat that will make its way up the Petaluma River. They will dock at River Plaza Shopping Center, and area families are invited to drop by and offer them a warm welcome.
The day will kick off in the morning with live entertainment while the crowd waits for the arrival of the VIP guests. The Clauses will be offered a warm welcome by the Petaluma School of ballet, which will have dancers on site in their costumes from “The Nutcracker”. Anyone who would like to take some family photos with Santa and his wife can do so, and after this, they can head out to explore the shops and services in Petaluma’s downtown.
This function is part of the city’s efforts to support its small business community. Many of these establishments will have special pricing on offer, and may even be giving away Promotional Products or other premiums to thank the public for their patronage.
This welcome to two holiday VIPs will be set up at River Plaza Shopping Center. The festivities will be getting started at 11:30 am next Saturday, November 25.
