The Petaluma River will soon be getting a good Fall clean thanks to assistance from a group of volunteers.
Friends of the Petaluma River has organized its annual Fall Cleanup day, and those who roll up their sleeves to tackle the project will be joining thousands of others who care about the environment. It is part of a larger California Coastal Clean Up Day, and all help will be appreciated.
Everyone who registers to participate in the function is reminded to wear comfortable clothing and footwear that is suitable for the task at hand. Gloves, grabbers, Bags and buckets will be supplied, and the volunteers will be served snacks and coffee to help keep the energy levels high. In the afternoon, everyone will be able to relax and mingle while they enjoy a BBQ lunch, entertainment, and an onsite raffle draw.
Each volunteer for the project will be assigned a stretch of river to clean, and everyone is asked to gather at Steamer Landing Park where they will receive their assignment. Stationery printers can prepare waivers and other documents that aid in taking care of the administrative side of an event.
