Knowing what to do in an emergency can save someone’s life, and a workshop that will equip members of this public with these skills will soon be on offer for Petaluma learners.
The Medic First Aid and CPR Training class is a four-hour class intended for anyone who would like to gain a more in-depth knowledge of these topics. It may be especially suitable for those with no previous medical training or employees who need to be able to respond in cardiac emergencies.
The learners in the session will find out how to perform emergency first aid until more skilled help arrives, and it will have a focus on the workplace setting. Along with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the control of bleeding, what to do when someone is choking, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and other pertinent topics are on the syllabus as well.
Taking part in an approved first aid training program can give members of the public confidence in themselves and their ability to act in an emergency. Learning materials for a class or other activity can be crafted by a local brochure printing company.
The Petaluma Valley Hospital has made arrangements to host this class on Saturday, February 11. The workshop will run from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm, and seats are still available at the time of writing.
