Petaluma holiday celebration to boast special guests

The Petaluma River offers opportunities for riparian recreation, and it will be the route Santa takes when he visits the city this year.

The Petaluma Downtown Association will be rolling out the red carpet for Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who have decided to leave their sleigh at home and choose a more water-friendly craft. They will be docking at River Plaza Shopping Center, and all ages are invited to come out and give them a warm welcome.

The pair will be sailing up the Petaluma River, and Lind Marine has provided a tugboat to transport them to their destination. Families are encouraged to stop by and give them a warm welcome, and the Pacific Empire Chorus and Petaluma Pete will be supplying the entertainment. A tent will be set up for photo ops, and Santa will remain on site for several hours before moving on to this next destination.

Those who attend this festive function are reminded to stay in the area afterwards so they can support local small businesses and get a jump start on their holiday shopping. Suitable banner printing services for almost any occasion will be available at a Print shop.

This free meet-and-greet with the Clauses has been scheduled for November 26. More information about the occasion, including timing and locations for the fun, are available on the Eventbrite listing.
