The Petaluma Fire Department serves the community 365 days a year, and its members have seen first-hand how important a blood donation can be when it comes to saving lives.
The department has issued a friendly challenge to others across the state to see which one can attract the largest number of donors to a blood drive in their home area. Dubbed the “Bucket Brigade” challenge, the donations will be made through Vitalant, and all help will be appreciated.
In the hope of winning the competition, Petaluma firefighters have put out a call asking community members to roll up their sleeves. Donation timeslots are available throughout the afternoon, and the process takes about an hour. Anyone who is interested will be able to fast-track their registration by creating an account when they reserve their appointment time.
Blood drives serve a valuable role in their community, offering the public a chance to be an everyday hero by saving a life. A poster printing company can help to get the word out to the public about an upcoming activity planned for their area, and the reasons to get involved.
The Bucket Brigade will help to make sure blood is available for emergencies, surgeries, and other lifesaving uses on January 24. It will be held at 2105 S McDowell Boulevard in Petaluma.
