Getting ready to “adult” may not be an easy road to follow for everybody, but an activity planned for the Petaluma area will help teens to pick up some essential new skills while having fun.
The Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library branch of the Sonoma County Library system will be offering teens the opportunity to volunteer. Advance registration is required, and the final date to sign up is February 21.
Volunteers will be trained to take on a variety of tasks, and will be expected to conduct themselves as if it were paid employment. Parental permission is required, and during the session, the attendees will learn more about the applicable rules, and the types of tasks they may be asked to perform. The Teen Librarian will conduct a short interview with those who sign up.
To help make it easier for the library staff and the families of the participating teens, both parents and kids will need to fill out the Teen Volunteer Packet and bring it along with them. A printing services company can prepare tees, name tags, pins, and other gear for volunteers.
The Rohnert Park-Cotati Regional Library will be welcoming its newest crop of teen volunteers on Wednesday, February 21. The activity will run from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm, and registrants will meet up at the venue’s front desk before the session begins.
