Locals 'udderly' excited about half marathon

Runners in Petaluma have a new date for their ‘dairy’, with the area’s 2015 Clo Cow Half Marathon coming up fast.

The course will take participants through rural Sonoma County with scenic views and challenging inclines. There will also be a 5K race. Along the way, there will be aid stations and portable restrooms.

Registration costs $90 for the half marathon and $33 for the 5K. Registration includes a goodie bag, a finisher’s medal,and post-race food. Marathon registrants will also get a T-shirt. Those who register together can purchase three entries and receive the fourth entry for free. Registration is available online or at Athletic Soles, located on 49 Petaluma Boulevard.

Awards will be given to the top three males and females in both races. There will also be age-group awards.

Packet pickup will be held on September 12 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Active Sports Club, located on 1201 Redwood Way. There will also be a race expo at this location from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. It is likely vendors at the expo used a business card printing service to make professional cards to distribute.

The half marathon kicks off on September 13 at 7:00 am, followed by the 5K at 7:10 am. Check-in will take place from 6:00 am until 6:45 a.m. The races start and end on Kentucky Street in downtown Petaluma.
