The town of Petaluma is set to kick off the holiday season in about a week’s time, with a one-day gala featuring a variety of activities and events held at or near the town center.
Events will include the annual ‘Light Up a Life’ tree lighting ceremony. Three evergreens will be illuminated by thousands of lights in order to symbolize optimism for the future. There will also be a Christmas Craft Faire where handmade crafts will be sold by vendors, and a Downtown Merchant’s Open House featuring carriage rides, balloon artists and treats given out by various merchants.
A Holiday Cookie Exchange Party and the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will be among the attractions. Those who plan to attend will need to dress appropriately for outdoor festivities and perhaps bring along digital Business Cards for sharing with fellow townsfolk.
All events will be on held Saturday, December 5. The tree lighting will be at Center Park, 21 Petaluma Blvd at dusk, and the Craft Faire will be held at Petaluma United Methodist Church, 410 “D” street, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, while the Open House will run all day at the Downtown Shopping District, 4th and Kentucky streets.
The Cookie Exchange will take place at Sonoma Spice Queen, 407 C Street from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Participants must bring cookies to trade, and beverages will be given free of charge. The Boat Parade of decorated and lighted boats will be seen as they arrive at the Petaluma River Turning Basin at 6:30 pm.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
