Later this week, Oakland’s Art Guild Day Trip will be taking participants to three destinations in Bay Area. The focus will be discovering contemporary works categorised as ‘exemplary’, ‘legendary’, and ‘extraordinary’.
The stop will include a visit to a collection of contemporary works depicting pop culture, race, and American history. The tour will take guests through Jeffrey Dauber’s Potrero Hill neighborhoods designed by Thomas Faulder. Work from artists such as Nick Cave, Tracey Snelling, Carrie Mae Weems, Richard Mosse, and David Hevel will be showcased.
Heath ceramics will be on display at the San Francisco showroom and tile factory. Also included are studios of similar designers, artists, and jewelers. Julia Turner and Liz Oppenheim works will be available for viewing.
Constructivist sculptor Bruce Beasley, known for his large-scale abstract art, will be explored and presented. Beasley is supporter of the arts and recently announced that his archives and properties are bequeathed to the Oakland Museum of California.
Catalog printing for an event of this type could be used to serve as a memento for the participants, as well as presenting information about the tour. Biographies, history, images, and sponsors can be included in the program.
With the trip set to take place this Thursday, January 22, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Those interest should visit the event website for complete scheduling and information.
