The Marché Moderne in Newport Beach has recently reopened in a new location at the Crystal Cove Shopping Center along the Pacific Coast Highway.
Chef-owners Florent and Amelia Marneau took over space on which Tamarind of London was formerly located, with the intention of redesigning the dining room, kitchen, bar, and menu. Amelia Marneau is the pastry chef and has some new desserts after travelling to Paris to research the additional offerings.
The couple commented that there will be both old and new items on the menu. There will be over 50 dishes, which will include signature favorites of customers, meals that became milestones in Florent Marneau’s career, and new recipes inspired by trips to restaurants in the bay area of San Francisco.
The French restaurant is 4,200 square feet in size with 142 seats and will be like a modern bistro. The décor is one of neutral tones, with a walnut ceiling, stone walls reminiscent of Provence, and an exhibition kitchen located in the middle of the dining room. Natural light and ocean breezes can come in through the steel doors.
Marché Moderne will no longer be open for lunch, but on Monday and Tuesday nights it will offer a three-course dinner menu for $38.
