Cal Tri Newport Dunes to host 2025 championship race

The 2025 Optimism Cal Tri Newport Dunes will take place this November at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina in Newport Beach.

Recognized as the world’s longest-running triathlon held continuously at the same site since its inception in 1978, this event now serves as the Cal Tri Events National Championship.

Athletes can choose from 12 competitive options, including six Olympic-distance races—Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 1640-yard Swim, and 10K Run—and six Sprint-distance events, offering the same race formats with shorter distances. A 5K and 400-yard swim are also available. Prices range from $47.49 for shorter events to $164.09 for full triathlon entries, with fees increasing after September 30th. Each race is open to participants aged 18 and older.

The Olympic Triathlon begins at 7:20 am, while most other events start at 7 am. Race day amenities include wetsuit-legal waters averaging 65°F, air temperatures ranging from 57°F to 71°F, and $15 on-site parking.
The event will be located just four miles from John Wayne Airport. The location will provide convenient access to major attractions such as Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Balboa Island.

Event organizers can use poster printing as an effective tool to promote athletic competitions like this, as it can allow event details to reach local audiences.

The 2025 Optimism Cal Tri Newport Dunes is set for Sunday, November 2nd, from 7 am to 12 pm at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina, 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, California.
