Napa cooking class to be all about the bubbly
Napa and the areas that surround it produce a wide variety of ingredients that can be transformed into many tasty dishes. A selection of these will be included in a hands-on cooking class planned with local foodies in mind, and each course will be paired with a glass of champagne.
Chef de Cuisine Mackenzie Rupp has created a menu that showcases locally sourced ingredients, and the students will help to prepare the different dishes that will be served. As they do, they will be learning a variety of cooking techniques they will be able to use at home in their own kitchen.
This three-hour event will be taking place in a professional cooking school, and the registration fee is $90 each. This includes the instruction as well as a brunch consisting of three courses that will be accompanied by a Domaine Chandon pairing.
At the end of the workshop, each of the students will be going home with a set of recipe cards so they can prepare the dishes at home. Stationery printers can supply these types of items, and they can even laminate them so that they will be protected from kitchen spills.
The Village Food and Wine Center has reserved May 19 for this special event. It is set to begin at 10:00 am.
