Napa celebrates the earth
Individuals who care about the environment can take part in a celebration of their planet later in the month.
The Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County is presenting ‘Earth Day Napa'. The free event will feature live entertainment, including an opening ceremony, ballet, belly dancing, and several other types of dance. Attendees can also learn more about alternative energy, sustainable farming, and other conservation efforts. There will be activities for kids too.
Vendors will be on site selling food, drinks, and desserts. Close to 50 exhibitors will be offering earth-friendly products and services, such as cloth diapers and solar energy. Local earth conscious groups like Label GMOs Napa County, the area’s wildlife conservation commission, and the City of Napa Recycling Division will also be on site.
In an effort to reduce the event’s carbon footprint, individuals are encouraged to bike or take public transportation. There will be free valet bike parking. On event day, attendees can also take the VINE public transit system free of charge. No doubt printing companies will be asked to use recycled paper and other sustainable materials for any promotional materials for the event.
