Locals to take a bite out of Napa at festival
Residents can enjoy Napa’s culinary bounty at a signature activity from Napa Valley’s Festival del Sole, a 10-day event filled with music, dance, theater, fitness, culinary, and other lifestyle experiences.
The Taste of Napa will feature local wineries, restaurants, and breweries. Guests can walk around the event, sample hors d’oeuvres, taste wine and beer, and listen to live music from guitarist Morris LeGrande. Food artisans will offer everything from chocolate to olive oil.
There will also be a ‘Town and Country Cookoff’ where chef teams from San Francisco and Napa will be given 10 ingredients to create three different courses. Then, judges will review the food and crown a winning team. Cookoffs have a capacity of 70 seats. Spencer Christian, a weather forecaster from ABC7, will be the cookoff’s emcee.
General admission costs $75. For an additional $139, guests can check out the ‘Reserve Tasting Salon’, where they will get to taste exceptional wines from Napa Valley and delicious food from two local chefs. It is likely vineyards in the area have asked brochure printers to make leaflets showcasing their wine selections.
The Taste of Napa will take place on July 18 from 11:00 am until 2:30 pm on 500 First Street. The Festival del Sole will go on from July 17 until July 26 at various locations throughout Napa Valley.
