Families invited to Turkey Chase
Groups are encouraged to take part in a Thanksgiving Day event that will get their hearts pumping while helping a local food bank.
The Napa Valley Turkey Chase features a 5K or 10K run or walk along the Napa River Trail.
Prior to race day, registration costs $35 for adults and $30 for youth between the ages of 8 and 17. On race day, there will be a $10 increase. Kids aged seven and under are free and can take part in a fun 100-meter dash. Groups of four, not including those seven and under, can take advantage of a $5 discount.
The race will be timed and the top male and female finishers will be rewarded with Saucony shoes. Each registrant will have a timing chip on their race bib. No doubt a banner printing service was asked to make start and finish signs for the race.
The event’s proceeds will go to help Community Action of Napa Valley. The organization provides resources for the local food bank, meals on wheels for seniors, rental assistance, emergency shelter, and more. These services are designed to help underprivileged individuals and families.
The chase begins on November 27 at Napa Valley College, located on 2277 Napa Vallejo Highway. Race day registration will be going on from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. The kids' dash begins at 7:50 am followed by the 10K at 8:00 am and the 5K at 8:10 am.
