What's Happening in Napa, CA…

Artistic event comes to Napa

In less than a month’s time, artsy types in Napa can enjoy a unique festival.

The 2015 American Folk Art Festival allows folk artists and antique dealers to display and sell their work at the Madonna Estate Winery. Guests will be able to check out unique antiques, fall-themed folk decor, and even Halloween pieces. The festival’s photographer, Kurt Gonsalves, will be offering and signing his wine country photos.

Guests can enjoy wine tasting, including a 2012 Estate Bottled Pinot Noir and some Madonna Estate Wines. There will also be a chocolate and wine pairing.

Admission is a $10 donation that includes a tote and a tasting glass with the event’s logo. Tickets are only available at the door.

Postcard printing is one way the winery can promote the event. Direct mailers could be sent out to locals in Napa.

For an additional fee, attendees can visit a tarot card reader or purchase food from the Alexis Baking Company. Guests can also bring their own meal to enjoy at one of the picnic grounds and tables.

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Lucky Penny Community Arts Center, a nonprofit organization that provides an artistic outlet for the Napa community.

It all takes place on September 12 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The Madonna Estate Winery is located on 5400 Old Sonoma Road. For more information, call (707) 246-2460.
