What's Happening in Napa, CA…

Active fundraiser will appeal to sports fans

The 39th annual Day for the Queen is taking place next month in Napa. It is a fundraiser for the Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

The day is divided into two very different events; there will be tennis and golf

tournaments. The tennis tournament is slated to begin at 8:30 AM. It will include clinics led by representatives of Peter Burwash International, round-robin play and an exhibition match by the University of the Pacific. Guests will also enjoy lunch. Participation fees are $150 per person.

The Murray Memorial golf tournament will tee off at 8:00 AM. Participants will choose between scramble and shamble. Fees are $150 for Silverado members, $195 for non-members or $780 for a foursome and will include lunch and golf play.

Both groups will come together later for a reception, after-party and awards presentations. They will also enjoy a silent auction and other giveaways.

Funds raised at this year’s event will go to emergency renovation and upgrades at the medical center.

To help spread the word about events like this in Napa, organizers may invest in printed invitations or flyers to be distributed in the area.

Day for the Queen will take place at the Silverado Resort and Spa on July 22. For more information about either tournament or to learn more about the Queen of the Valley Medical Center, call 707-257-4044.
