Laguna Niguel gears up for annual spooky event

Laguna Niguel is preparing for its annual Haunted Trails event this October, welcoming families to a walk-through haunted attraction in the heart of the city.

The event is produced by the City of Laguna Niguel's Parks and Recreation Department and has become one of the city's longest-running Halloween traditions. Visitors are guided through the attraction in small groups, passing through a series of mazes and tents before reaching a graveyard scene. Storybook characters, including Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Rapunzel, are among those said to haunt the trail this year.

The department is also recruiting volunteers age 15 and older to help staff the event, with an informational meeting and a training session held in the weeks before opening night. Local teens and community members frequently take part, gaining hands-on event experience while giving back to the neighborhood.

Flyer printing can be a valuable tool for community events like this one, helping organizers spread the word among residents leading up to opening night.

Crown Valley Community Park has hosted Haunted Trails for many years, with groups of up to 13 visitors escorted through the mazes and tents before reaching the attraction's final scene. Organizers ask that visitors wear comfortable walking shoes and leave costumes at home for the outdoor event.

Haunted Trails runs Thursday, October 22, through Sunday, October 25, at Crown Valley Community Park, 29751 Crown Valley Parkway. Tickets cost $15 at the door, or $10 per person for groups of 10 or more.
