Concord officials have announced that they will, once again, be hosting their annual 5K Turkey Trot.
The event is meant to allow local runners the chance to participate in a local race just before Thanksgiving. A portion of this year’s race proceeds will go to benefit Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa, which funds local food programs in the Concord area.
The event – sponsored by the Diablo Valley Federal Credit Union – is a major race for the Concord area. However, it is open to runners, walkers, or families, including individuals with strollers. Please note there are no refunds after registration.
In addition to being able to run all participants will receive a T-shirt and medal.
It will be held on Thanksgiving this year, which is Thursday, November 23. The run kicks off at 8:00 am from 1351 Newhall Parkway, in Concord. Event officials say that the run will take place over a highly varied tertian, which includes fields, pathways, city streets, and more.
Tickets are $35 per person for any individual who registers before October 31. Family registration is $119, and registration for the kid's fun run is $5.
Sponsorships are still available for the event. Sponsorship comes with the ability to advertise your business, hand out Promotional Products to racers, and have your name and logo be placed on any Print Flyers. Contact race officials for more information.
