Cities across the country have been busy celebrating 250 years of American independence, and Concord will soon be counted within this list. A festival taking place in October has recently been announced, with many details already released.
United We Rise: 250 Years of American Spirit is being hosted by Rosie the Riveter Trust. Community leaders, guest speakers, civic partners, and local businesses are some of the individuals who have confirmed their attendance. The main theme of this festival is associated with how Americans have risen to the occasion over the years, and the means by which they overcame various obstacles when shaping a nation.
Rosie the Riveter will also be highlighted. This iconic image was associated with the Second World War, and depicted a woman helping to build airplanes that would subsequently be sent off to battle. Rosie was seen as a representation of the sacrifices Americans were forced to make, the growing prevalence of the female workforce, and a stalwart sense of patriotism.
Events focusing on patriotic overtones will often embed these flavors within their marketing campaigns. Methods could include brochure printing that employs themes of Americana, and asking volunteers to pass out red, white, and blue Flyers.
Concord will be celebrating this event on Saturday, October 3 from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM. This event is being held within the Hilton Hotel located at 1970 Diamond Boulevard. Tickets are priced at $250 and should be purchased in advance.
