Pop-rock band to play Concord

An award-winning “boy band” is set to appear in Concord.

5 Seconds of Summer is an Australian group that got together in 2011. Their first gig was at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney, where it is reported they played for an audience of just 12 people. They began their rise on YouTube, where they performed covers of various popular songs. Their success on social media attracted music publishers and labels, and when they released “Unplugged,” their first musical effort, it went to No. 3 on Australia's iTunes chart, and also placed well in Sweden and New Zealand.

In 2012, they dropped “Out of My Limit,” their first single, which was viewed more than 100,000 times in 24 hours. In December of that same year, they visited London to write songs with a variety of artists. The band headlined their first world tour, “Rock Out with Your Socks Out” in 2015, which took them to arenas in North America, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe.

In 2018, they won the Teen Choice Award, as well as MTVE's award for Best Rock Group. Their single “Youngblood” won Song of the Year as well, and now Concord audiences will be able to see them in person.

5 Seconds of Summer will be at the Concord Pavilion on June 26 in a rescheduled appearance. Poster printing is frequently used to publicize events like this.
